New Cars In South Africa in 2021
What's new in 2021 when it comes down to the car market in South Africa?
Lets start with the Aston Martin..
Drop-topping doesn't get much better than this as Aston Martin prepares to welcome its Vantage Roadster to us in the first quarter of 2021. Not only is this AMG-powered newcomer capable of achieving from 0 to 100 kmh in 3.7 seconds – its automatic soft-top is said to be able to retract fully in a record 6.7 seconds!!
The Vantage Roadster employs a burly twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine to generate its forward momentum with outputs of 375 kW and 685 Nm of torque and making use of a fast-shifting 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
Then we have the Audi Rs Q8
This amazing car will now be introduced in Q1 2021. It will bring massive firepower to the road with a 441 kW/800 Nm 4.0-litre bi-turbocharged engine to ensure a zero to 100 kmh sprint time of 3.8 seconds before breaking a top speed of 305 kmh.
Pricing will be confirmed closer to launch. You can also expect a wide range of S and RS models to make landfall.
BMW M3 and M4
BMW fans can look forward to the arrival of the new M3 and M4 Coupe on local soil in the first half of the new year. No Matter if you like the grille or not, you cannot argue with what’s lurking in the engine bay.
Both the M3 and M4 are powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-6 engine developing no less than 353 kW (or 375 kW in the Competition derivatives) while torque is pegged at 550 Nm and 650 Nm respectively.
Looking forward to this
Ferrari held a virtual launch and private previews of its Roma compact grand tourer in South Africa earlier this year.
The model is officially expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2021. The newcomer is powered by a 3.9-litre V8 turbo petrol engine with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, that produces 456 kW (from 5 750 to 7 500 rpm) and 760 Nm (3 000–5 750 rpm).
The Roma will sprint from 0 to 100 kmh in 3.4 sec and will keep on to a top speed in excess of 320 kmh.
A new-look Fiat Tipo is on the way with a fresh design and a new 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine with 74 kW and 190 Nm of torque.
Ford is updating the Ranger and we suspect that the Ranger update will follow from the recently-revealed Australian-spec Wildrak X which will see a host of visual enhancements and equipment upgrades come to market.
We are also expecting the new Haval Big Dog Eish , dunno about that one and Then a Honda Jazz
Next week we will look at the Jag , Hyundai and the new Jeep so until then have a good Holiday and a merry Christmas!!
